Steps you can take to increase your life span. Watch for future additions explaining side effects, dosage, supplement interaction, etc.
Identify and correct nutritional
abnormalities. Thanks to recently developed sophisticated technology, it is
now possible to evaluate your organ function and metabolic processes to
determine whether you have excesses or deficiencies of vitamins, minerals,
proteins, amino acids, carbohydrates, and fats.
Reduce your caloric intake by cutting
excess calories from carbohydrates and non-essential fats. Reduced caloric
intake is repeatedly associated with increased longevity. As a side benefit, it
reduces your risk for cancer and heart disease, improves blood circulation, and
reduces the pain associated with arthritis (because your bones and joints have
less weight to carry)!
Achieve your ideal weight, which is
the lowest possible weight that maintains your body function and your health.
Any extra weight must be eliminated. Do not rely on published height/weight
tables, because these values are usually too high. You do not need to store
extra calories as a precaution in case natural disasters such as a new glacial
period or earthquake leave you without food for months. You can find
supermarkets open almost every week in practically every city.
Optimize your fatty acid profile. It
is important to achieve the correct balance of w3 vs. w6 essential fats
(usually requires eating more w3s). This may require eating EF supplements. The
fatty acid profile EFA-SRä
can tell you exactly what to do.
Take nutritional supplements as needed.
Take Vitamin E, up to 100 IU per day for each tablespoon of EFA-rich oil you consume. Do not exceed 200 IU of vitamin E per day, or you may interfere with the oxidative processes that destroy cancer cells, viruses and bacteria.
Some people may benefit from 100-200 ugm of Selenium per day, as this may have some cancer fighting benefits. Do not take more, however; it is toxic in large doses. Watch for Selenium in other multivitamins and minerals. Beware: some people can be harmed by Selenium; one study found it to be associated with an increased incidence of breast cancer but decreased incidence of prostate and other cancers.
Take 100 - 250 mg vitamin C per day, but not more, as excreting the excess in urine can cause you to lose other minerals. Excessive antioxidants could interfere with the body's ability to kill infections, cancer cells, or destroy old sick cells and replace them with healthier ones. Watch for vitamin C included with other multivitamins and minerals.
Avoid foods containing hydrogenated oils,
processed fat (particularly fried foods), and highly processed carbohydrates
(like pastries, most cereals).
Do not take hormones such as melatonin and
DHEA (there are too many potential side effects). Just because hormone
levels decrease with age doesn't mean taking more hormones stops aging. It is
advisable to take a more natural approach. DHEA may promote hormone-dependent
cancers, such as prostate cancer.
Enjoy satisfying and fulfilling activities
and keep a positive outlook on life!
Two large slices of pizza and 1/4 gallon
chocolate ice cream on alternate days except Sundays (just kidding, checking
if you are asleep).
