The relative effect of different types of fatty acids is with regard to Total Cholesterol and TC/HDL Cholesterol is:

Trans Fatty Acids TFAs < or = Saturated Fatty Acids SFA < Monounsaturated MUFA < PUFA

This means that eating more PUFAs lowers TC/HDLC the most, next is MUFA, then either SFA or TFA.
