Learn about our "biochemical surgeryÔ" that seeks to optimize cell membranes. Healthy cell membranes lead to healthy cells. Healthy cells lead to improved organ function, a strengthened immune system, and improved life expectancy.
The treatments we present are novel and state-of-the-art. Because we talk to leading scientists around the world and attend scientific and medical conferences every year, we can present new research findings years before they reach scientific journals or become known by clinical doctors. Several years ago, we published new nutrition therapies for high blood pressure, brain function, and high cholesterol. These therapies are now being reported as "new."
Dr. Siguel has a unique perspective on health and disease based on his clinical and laboratory experience as a leading researcher on essential fats, his pathology training in lab medicine, his PhD in statistics, and his critical reading of thousands of medical articles per year. Dr. Siguel’s work has been featured in the New York Times, Time magazine, CNN, and many others. He has given lectures to Harvard’s Nutrition Department, the Canadian government, the American Oil Chemists Society, the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, and many more. See Dr. Siguel’s CV.
For selected diseases, we identify common conditions or complications and suggest our preferred treatment. This is a rough summary to discuss with your doctor. Click on disease for further details or read Dr. Siguel's books. Consultations for complex cases are available through your doctor. Contact us. Serious inquiries only, please.

Treatment of choice
If overweight, lose weight, shift to diet rich in vegetables and fruits, low
in calories. Evaluate for fatty acid status and eat to optimize FA profile.
If not overweight, requires special treatment and sophisticated diagnosis.
Children's health
and nutrition
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Crohn's Disease. See IBD.
Complications
Intestinal inflammation with pain due to blind loop syndrome, possible leak
inside intestine (fistula).
Bowel pain, distention, reduced bowel sounds, rebound tenderness, fever,
difficulty + pain moving legs due to compression of psoas muscle + nerves
(caused by inflamed bowel).
Monitor with CBC + diff (elevated WBC). Measure abdominal distention with tape.
Watch for changes in fecal matter.
Treatment of choice
Bowel rest, start with elemental diet, shift to IV if no improvements
within 48 hours. Avoid all fat, use amino acids or very small peptides.
Supplement with antibiotics. Cipro 150 mg to 250 mg 2/day, Metronidazole, 250
mg 2 to 4 times per day. Other options exist such as Clindamycin + other
antibiotic. Improvement should occur in 2 days. However, pain may continue x 2+
weeks. Improvements should be decline in pain, temperature, reduced abdominal
distention.
MUST discuss with doctor, serious side effects, possible abdominal infection,
sepsis (blood infection), intestinal rupture, death.
