Raynaud's Syndrome |
People have cold hands or cold feet because they lose heat faster than the body can deliver warm blood and oxygen to keep the body warm. Several factors compound the problem:
the heart is weak and cannot pump enough
blood;
the pulse rate is low and not enough blood
circulates;
the vessels are partially obstructed and not
enough blood moves through them;
the blood itself is viscous and moves slowly.
One common solution to all these problems is to increase the fluidity of the blood and the elasticity of red cells using EFs.
Portions of this section have been excerpted from the book "EFAs in Health and Disease" (how to order, table of contents, references, notes, excerpts).
